Welcome back and thank you for entrusting your children to the St. William the Abbot Childhood Faith Formation program for your faith journey this upcoming year!
The mission and purpose of St. William the Abbot Church is to not only learn ‘about’ Jesus, but to come to know Him in a personal and intimate way. That certainly happens in our Faith Formation classes during the year, but most especially at the celebration of weekly Mass. In your role as Catholic parents, it is essential that you guide and teach your children in their daily prayers, how to read the scriptures, practice devotionals, and to become a faithful Catholic disciple. Children learn what they live, and the Celebration of the Eucharist must be on the top of the list of the priorities you embrace as a family.
We offer in-person classes for children in Levels 1 through 8 and a parent-lead at-home program for children in Level 1. First Holy Communion is typically received after successfully completing Levels 1 and 2 while the Sacrament of Confirmation is received after successfully completing Levels 7 and 8. Sacramental prep are 2-year programs.
In order to assist families come to a greater space of peace, and because of the importance and obligation of attending Mass each week, attending Mass is required and monitored throughout the year for students in all levels of our Faith Formation program.
